If you’ve been job hunting (or helping someone who is), you know how tough it can be to even get an interview these days. One reason? Many people are applying for jobs they aren’t fully qualified for, which clogs the system and makes it harder for strong candidates to stand out.
Enter LinkedIn’s new AI-powered “Job Match” feature, designed to bridge the gap between applicants and the right roles.
🔍 What does it do?
* The tool provides detailed summaries to help you see how your experience aligns with job qualifications.
* It goes beyond simple keyword matching, analyzing the breadth of your skills and experience.
* If a role isn’t a great fit, it can direct you toward positions where you are better qualified.
💡 Why does it matter?
This isn’t just a win for job seekers — it’s a sigh of relief for recruiters overwhelmed by applications from unqualified candidates. The goal is to streamline the process for everyone, saving time and increasing the chances of finding the right fit on both sides.
👀 Premium Perks
For LinkedIn Premium users, “Job Match” offers more granular insights into why a role might (or might not) be a good match.
While this feature won’t solve all job market challenges, LinkedIn product manager Rohan Rajiv says it’s already helping in surprising ways. “A non-trivial chunk of the problem is more solvable than we think,” Rajiv notes.
