What Would It Take to Build a Truly Equitable AI Ecosystem in Connecticut?

Google’s backing of the Applied AI Center in Hartford is a turning point — but it’s only the beginning. As someone working at the intersection of AI and workforce development, I’ve seen firsthand how transformational this moment could be… if we get it right.

✅ AI can be a great equalizer — but only if:
* Community colleges and workforce boards are equipped to teach AI literacy
* Small businesses and nonprofits can access AI tools without prohibitive costs
* Public-private partnerships prioritize access, not just innovation headlines
* Career centers and educators are trained to prepare talent for real AI-enabled jobs

It’s work I’ve been actively involved in — both through coaching individuals navigating the AI job market and consulting with institutions on how to embed generative AI into career preparation programs. I am deeply appreciatinve about how Connecticut educators and students have responded to my book, AI Powered Job Hunting, an Amazon #1 New Release.

📍Let’s make sure Hartford, New Haven, Stamford — and everywhere in between — don’t just host AI. Let’s lead it. Together.
