Don’t leave diversity off your resume

Don’t leave off diversity in your resume. Diversity encompasses race, gender, ethnicity, generations, religion, sexual orientation, life and work experiences, language, and anything else that gives you an expanded perspective. Employers look for key abilities and attributes that demonstrate a candidate’s diversity experience. Have you managed a global team? Developed an intranet site for U.S. and European locations? Are you fluent in speaking, reading, and writing another language? Have you volunteered in a racially and ethnically diverse community? Have you taken a college course in Cross-Cultural Communications? Did you attend Diversity and Inclusion workshops? You can look at a prospective company’s website for any diversity involvement they have and see if you have points of connection.
